When you install a new operating system or windows you might face audio problems which will frustrate you. Don’t worry in this article I am going to cover how to fix sound problems in windows 10. In Windows you can quickly test the speakers by clicking the volume notification. Use the gizmo to set overall system volume, but keep in mind that the speakers or your headphones may have additional volume controls.
How to Fix Sound Problems in Windows 10
To set more sound software options, right click the volume notification.
Choose Playback Devices to see the hardware outputs available on your PC. The one with a green check mark is the default. Select that item and click the Configure button.
Click the Test button to ensure that the left and right speakers or your headphones are working. You can click an individual speaker to test it. To set recording devices.
Click the Recording tab. The current microphone input is flagged with a green check mark. Choose that item and click Configure to set the microphone volume and input levels similar to what was shown for selecting the sound output levels.
When you experience audio trouble, right click the volume notification and choose Troubleshoot Sound Problems.
Windows runs a sound troubleshooter, which attempts to diagnose and repair various issues. Work the troubleshooter, responding is necessary to the prompts. If the item presented isn’t an issue, just click next or skip this step button.
If the troubleshooter doesn’t work, check to confirm that you are using the latest audio driver, to do so, tab the windows key and type Device Manager, choose the device manager control panel.
If any issues are detected with audio hardware, that will appear in input and output area. Malfunctioning hardware is flagged with tiny yellow icon.
How to Update the Audio Driver?
To update a drive, choose a proper hardware, double click that item, click the driver tab, update the driver.
I would choose search automatically for updated driver software, widows will search the internet and check if you have the latest driver installed.
Conclusion
If new driver found windows will download and install in automatically and that may fix the issue, otherwise if the latest software was installed, then the software isn’t the issue and you may be having an audio hardware problem.
On some of my computers, I have experienced endless problems with a microphone not working, the hardware doesn’t recognize the microphone’s connection, rather than use the audio jack. The solution I found is to get a USB microphone, or USB headset, these types of peripherals may not have the same audio problems as a traditional microphone, you will however, need to remember to select the USB microphone, when you configure various recording or chat programs or an online game. Locate the settings within the program and choose the USB microphone as the recording method.
